Jeremiah 17:7-8

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots
by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8

TWO!

She turned 2!!! She got plasma car from Grandma and Papa. She enjoys scooting it around the driveway.
We had a small celebration at the Ice Cream Station with cake and ice cream, of course.
a minnie mouse cake for the minnie mouse lover.

She got a cabbage patch kid and stroller from Grandma and Grandpa for her birthday and loves it!

and a minnie mouse coloring book.

This pic is from Father's day at Runway Cafe in Greenville- one of my favorite places to eat out because of the great area outside to entertain kids (playground and planes) while you wait!

some random pics...

I don't know when she got so big. It just happened, like over night. And look how cute she still is! :)

This was Adelaide's expression the whole entire time during her first train ride ever. She was still under 2 so she got to ride for free. =) I think she liked it????

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit for Adelaide's 2nd birthday... more on that later...

The start to my days...

As I was reflecting on these girls' unique personality traits I thought about how different they are... and it can pretty much be summed up by the way each of them start their days.

Adelaide- up no later than 7am; she wakes up talking, laughing, singing.... all loudly; she starts saying "wanna walk" and "go bye bye" and "wanna eat" before I can even get my feet on the floor; she is an independent adventourous explorer ready to hit the ground running (literally) right away; she is determined, passionate, active, talkative, NOT quiet... and is like that all day until we force her to go to bed. =)

Lillian- we may hear her stir, coo and gurgle for a bit, then she'll fall back to sleep and that will go on for an hour until we go up and get her at 8 because I don't want her sleeping past that for schedule's sake (simultaneous naptimes are a huge blessing), she is laid back, calm, content, pleasant, easy to go down, happy to wake up on her own and just chill because that's her.... just chill. She loves to be held and is a snuggler but is also perfectly content to just hang out on her playmat, talk to her giraffe or Maui. Totally chill. And at night when it's time to go to bed... she just does, happy to, whatever, she's a go with the flow kinda girl.

The one similarity I do see in them right now (which can be said of most kids) is how much they love to sing and dance and although Lillian can't actually join in on her own to do those things right now I can totally tell she's going to by her smile and engaging look on her face. She can't wait to join us in our singing and dancing! And of course another similarity is their unsurpassing beauty and smiles! ;)

I love these two to pieces and love seeing the creativity of God through how He molds each one of them (and us)... for a specific purpose, design, and pray that they, by faith, would live their lives empowered by the Spirit to be who God calls and purposes them to be, and that we would provide a home where they would have the freedom to live in such a way- whether that be crazy or calm. =)

Time at the Lake

One thing that greatly refreshes Serge and I is being around water... lakes, rivers, oceans etc. We are bummed that Simpsonville lacks a body of water to visit but are so grateful for being able to visit his parents on lake Keowee a little over an hour away. We got to do that at the beginning of this week (never on the weekends because that's when Serge is busy at work) and it was very refreshing, just the 2 days we were there felt like vacation for us! Here are some pics of our time:
This was actually from the weekend before when the girls and I went up. Looks like Adelaide still needs bedrails. =) She was passed out!

 Papa's little helper.

Lillian didn't seem to mind her life jacket. She actually seemed to thoroughly enjoy boat rides. She fell asleep on almost every ride. =) The water was a little too cold for her to be in it, but I did dip her feet in a couple of times.

Serge skis too fast to get decent pictures (well, for me and my camera anyway). But I love watching him ski and so does Adelaide!

Lillian... always amused by whatever Adelaide is doing or saying.

Adelaide turned into a fish during our time there. Serge and I took her to the pool and she was jumping in and running away from Serge, who was in the water catching her, because she didn't want him to catch her! She is little Miss Independent!
