Jeremiah 17:7-8

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots
by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8

the scary blue house

We've officially been in Simpsonville for one year now- hard to believe! We decided just before Memorial Day last year on moving closer to the store so we could have more family time and live, work, and worship in the same place. Our house in Seneca quickly sold, confirming that decision. We looked at 4 or 5 houses in Simpsonville (in person, hundreds online) and we picked the smurf blue house. :) It needed (still needs) alot of work but much has changed on this place in a year! We're so grateful to call this place our home! It's nicer than we ever thought we'd have! And we're really glad we could make so many changes to it too. :) So, in honor of us being here for one year, I'll post some pictures over the next week of some before and afters. :) Because it's about time. :)

Here's a picture of it in the fall. The siding, trim, shutters, door etc. were all painted. It won't last as long as new siding would but it was much more cost effective at this time since we had much to do on the house. Paint sure can do alot!

This spring we started a small amount of landscaping... just enough to make the house look not so foreclosed.

 Here's a before picture of the pool/backyard.

 Ewww...
AHHH!!! We had a few of these visitors so we decided to bump the pool renovation up sooner than we expected. Seems like they were finding mighty fine dinners back there. The bullfrogs were the size of Adelaide's head, no joke. So we decided to save money, we should do it ourselves, thanks to some helpful you tube videos. :)

Drained out... disgusting!!!!! This smelled like manure as we (ok, Serge) hauled it out.

This is after we got the new liner in. We ordered it online and then with the help of Serge's parents got it all installed. Much better!

I think we've only had it fixed up for about a week now and I think we've been in it almost every single day!

Lillian has even gotten in it recently after it warmed up and seems to enjoy it.

 I just love this picture.

Noah and Caleb (Adelaide and Lillian's cousins) have gotten to come swim lately too. So much fun for everyone!

 Ribbit!

I'll try and do inside before and after pictures over the next couple of weeks.
